THE WARN WINCH REVOLUTION

In 1959, with hub sales taking off, Warn Industries blazed another new trail, this time with the electric winch. Before electric winches, a vehicle would’ve had a power take-off winch (PTO), which required the engine to be running in order for the winch to work. But the WARN Winch was electric, and could operate even if the vehicle was stalled on a steep hill. The popularity of the electric winch quickly made Warn Industries the leading brand for off-road racers, avid four wheelers, weekend adventurers, and hard-working ranchers. In 1974, the iconic M8274 was introduced. This cemented Warn Industries as the name to choose in electric winches.

ADVANCING THE ATV MARKET

With the growth of the ATV market in the 1980s, Warn Industries introduced the first dedicated powersports winch, which created an entirely new segment of products for the company. These winches allowed ATV owners the ability for self-recovery, and let riders push their vehicles to the limit without fear of getting stuck. More than three decades later, Warn continues to offer the most premium powersports products available today including a full line of winches, winching accessories, mounting systems, and an extensive plow lineup.
