Galvanization of steel refers to the process the steel undergoes to make it more resistant against corrosion and rust. This process usually involves adding a protective layer of zinc to steel in order to prevent corrosion and rust over prolonged exposure to the elements. And while there are different ways to galvanize steel, hot-dipped galvanization is often thought to be the preferred method.

Hot-dipped galvanized steel is steel that has been submerged in vats of molten zinc, which coats the steel entirely, making it inherently resistant against corrosion. That’s because the heat of the molten zinc changes the molecular makeup of the steel. This process ensures that the steel frames of our ShelterTech buildings offer more reliable resistance against corrosion and rust.

All ShelterTech steel pipe frames come with a 3 year prorated warranty. To ensure your steel building and frame stay in good shape, please refer to the maintenance information as well as your building manual.

WIND AND SNOW RATED BUILDINGS

ShelterTech customizable buildings are wind and snow rated, which means they’re ready to take on tough weather. Our buildings are thoroughly tested and certified to meet a specific capacity of snow load per square foot, as well as wind loads per mile per hour. Our buildings are made strong, here’s how they’re different.

Each of our buildings carries a different wind and snow load rating. Since our buildings are available in custom sizing, the wind and snow loads will change. Our wind and snow load ratings are given for reference only and assume a securely anchored frame according to local building codes and ordinances. These have been calculated using combined snow and load provisions in accordance with the ASCE 7-05 based on an unoccupied, fully enclosed building. Local code requirements vary by location. Conformance to local codes is the responsibility of the purchaser.

ShelterTech SP Series fabric covers are made from a durable, yet flexible PVC fabric that has been manufactured specifically for the rough and tumble of outdoor use. Both our Heavy Duty 14.5 oz. fabric covers and our 21.5 oz. fabric covers are made from a durable PVC material, and each comes with a pro-rated warranty of 10 to 15 years, respectively.

Our PVC fabric covers are tested for their tough, superior quality and will help ensure your building can withstand tough weather. These are some of the reasons why they are considered some of the best in the market.

The fabric is then coated and treated with a UV protection treatment that both enhances its resistance against microbial growth like fungus and mold, and protects it from UV damage that can cause fading and deterioration over time.

HOW IT’S MADE

The unique fabric cover is made using an inter-woven technique. Strands of fabric are coated and woven together to create a resilient and durable tear-resistant effect. This reduces the likelihood that your ShelterTech cover will tear, and if it does, it means it is far less likely to fray.

This means that the cover of your building, when properly installed and cared for will likely have a long life span.

The fabric is then coated and treated with a UV protection treatment that both enhances its resistance against microbial growth like fungus and mold, and protects it from UV damage that can cause fading and deterioration over time.

Once you order your ShelterTech building and choose the dimensions, we will make a cover to suit your building in the cover grade and color of your choice. Rather than stitching the cover, we heat seal it to ensure the cover remains waterproof.

SHELTERLOCK STABILIZERS

HOW IT WORKS

At each connection point in a ShelterTech building, you’ll find a ShelterLock: a unique patented connector that reinforces your building’s strength and stability. This component holds the cross rails and main ribs of your frame together in a way that ultimately makes the building stronger, and sturdier. When properly connected, the ShelterLock’s allow for the cross-rails to receive a greater longitudinal stiffness which enables the frame to be more stable and to better resist some impact.

MATERIALS WE USE

ShelterLock stabilizers are made from zinc plated steel that resists corrosion and rust, even over time. These components connect with two nuts and two bolts, all of which are also zinc plated. That means that rather than simply coating the surface of the ShelterLock component with a rust resistant coating, we ensure that all pieces resist rust and corrosion from the inside out.

The zinc plating process we use on the ShelterLocks changes the steel on a molecular level by electrically charging it. This ensures a longer lifespan on these very important, very unique components of ShelterTech buildings

WHAT IS NOT COVERED BY THIS LIMITED WARRANTY:

  • Damage that occurs during shipping.
  • Shelter that has been subjected to abuse, accident, alteration, modification, tampering, vandalism, negligence, misuse, abrasive contact, faulty installation, lack of reasonable care or if affixed to any attachment not provided with the shelter.
  • Damage to the contents of shelter, any person or property is excluded.
  • Normal and foreseeable wear and tear.
  • Wear of fabric due to improper installation of cover & doors.
  • Damage that occurs due to acts of nature, ie. hurricane, tornado, wind, flood, snow, wind driven debris, etc.
  • Third party labor or installation fees of any kind are not recoverable under the warranty.
  • Customer is responsible for all zoning issues and permits if required.
  • Product not installed according to instructions provided.

These are made to order in the USA. Production time is 2-3 weeks.

Once The production time is complete, shipping will be setup and scheduled.

At that time you will receive tracking in your order portal.

For Everest Steel Garage’s Shipping will be LTL and it will be off loaded the truck but will not be moved. Please plan on being there when delivery happens.
